RE: Class Participation
English 325 gave me an opportunity to metaphorically come out of my shell. I am the type of student who stays quiet and doesn't voice my opinion or comments. If I need to talk to the Professor, I will wait till office hours to ask questions instead of raising my hand in class. As soon as I realized the class consisted of 14 people and I also had to participate in group discussions, I knew that I would have to just sulk it up and speak up, even if I may not know the answer or sound stupid. I feel I participated in class discussions, peer reviews, and voiced my opinions and questions during class. During the chapter discussions of the books we read, I spoke up when asked questions if I felt my answer was viable. I believe I should receive the 50 points for the class participation objective.
My work ethic has always been up to par in all of my classes as well as in any outside of school work establisments. I worked hard in English 325 considering I am not very good at writing and such. I didn't draft extensively as the criteria states, except for the assignments we had to produce during class. An example of my work ethic though, can be shown during the open genre assignment. We discussed bringing our magazine to the wellness center and seeing if they wanted to publish it. I contacted the manager of the wellness center and told him about our concept and began arranging a time to meet. We decided we'd wait until after the assignment was graded and all the corrections finalized. With a knew draft in hand, I plan to meet with him this week. I believe I should receive the 50 points for the work ethic objective.
Seeing that I struggle with English courses, I made sure I attended every class period that was held in the classroom. The attendance sheet has my signature on every date that I was present. So I feel I deserve the 10 extra bonus points. Thank you for the great experience in learning the documentation of healthcare professionals.
